Summer Solstice Ritual Broom Making
Come gather with us on the Summer Solstice for a workshop on Ritual Broom Making.
Bundles of twigs, reeds, husks, leaves, and other natural fibers have been used since ancient times to sweep up ash and embers around the fire.
The broom has come to represent many things such as a woman's power, and are a part of rituals throughout the globe. Everyone's ancestry includes a broom.
Come learn the history of the broom, its many incarnations from around the world, and make your own tampico fiber Altar Broom to add to your ritual spaces.
We will start by sharing the path the broom has taken throughout history, the many rituals and ceremonies it is a part of still today. We will connect with the foundations of our ancestry, learning to achor ourselves within the simplistic beauty and versatility of this universal tool.
Then we work together as we bind our own hand brooms. These brooms are beautiful, practical, and ceremonial. All participants will choose the color of cord they will use to bind their broom.
Date: June 21st, 2022
Time: 6-8pm
Investment: $60 (includes materials)
Almost every home has a broom. And no altar is complete without one.
